Taiwan’s rose-tinted nostalgia for the Japanese years - I have a friend who worked for several years in Taiwan in the early 90s. I asked him the following: http://claudio.piombetti.com/blog/4280/Taiwan’s+rose-tinted+nostalgia+for+the+Japanese+years
#Taiwan
Surf culture and relaxed approach to life in Southern Taiwan is well illustrated, I believe, by this picture taken in Benfu village, Liuqiu Island.

If you’re British, you might know that your jokes won’t work well with a German audience.
But, as far as these two cultures might seem, they’re quite close, in the grand scheme of things. I am on holiday in #Taiwan, where the humour is entirely different… so I just refrain from making jokes
#Taiwan worked very hard at building their own unique identity, which also integrates aboriginal cultures (16 tribes, AFAIK) while not ignoring the structural and cultural effects of the 50 years of Japanese colonisation.
